Notice that there is a separation between the circle (representing man) and God. This is sin separating us from God and His kingdom.
Today we will look at diagram three concerning the exchanged life. The Pre-salvation Person.
As you look at the circle that represents the body, you will see it functioning as the world system does. (Isaiah 59:2) But your iniquities have separated between you and your God,
and your sins have hidden His face from you, that He will not hear.
Our soul is functioning in the way of the world. Whatever thoughts you grew up with are what will enter your soul. The three functions of your soul (mind, emotions, will) will be fed entirely by your past. Your mind will
think about what you have been told and experienced all your life. If your experiences have been negative, you will walk in a world without hope. If they have been positive, then you will have a stable, productive flesh pattern, of independence.
Your emotions and feelings will center on the positive results that have taken place through all your self-effort. Nothing has changed from the first diagram. Your speech, actions, and five senses are still working the same way they always have.
Diagram 2 / Centers on the Flesh Patterns
What are our flesh patterns?
Our flesh patterns are our “Self-Life." This life brings in all our desires.
Whatever your emotions lead you to do, you do! Might some things come
to mind for you right now?
If you have not accepted Christ, the rule is, “Take care of yourself, for I am worth it!” You are worth something, but it has come with the price
of Christ, His sacrifice. Which teaches you a whole different way of functioning than the world's system?
And you who He quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and the mind; and were by nature children of wrath, even as others. Ephesians 2:
As you noticed from this scripture, there is little difference between a good person and a bad person as far as how we function. We all operated from our flesh patterns. Whatever
came in (before Christ), that is how we walked. We walked in fulfilling the desires of the flesh. Or, sometimes called our Self Life.
Although I prayed to God before I accepted Christ, I did not know Him! I came to Him with urgent needs concerning my health, or my child. Praying to Him was not salvation.
Believing He cared for me was not enough. Knowing about Him was not enough. It was not until I understood the reality of the cross, and what He had done for me on that cross, that I became saved. It all had to do
with His sacrifice, not my so-called good works. Working for God took place even after being a Christian. I still tried to use the ways of the world to function. I was performing out of my flesh patterns. These were the
things I understood. Work harder and you will be holier. Jesus never said this in His word. He said, “My yoke is easy, my burden is light.” I had Pharisee flesh patterns. Now is a good time to ask your self,
“What are my flesh patterns? What do I believe will win me God’s grace?”
Notice in the diagram that the Flesh Life goes into both spaces. What affects your soul, will
also affect your body.
Prayer: Lord, help me to know you in all the things i do in my daily life. Help me to see that you are always with me
and want to live your life through me. Help me to see that you are not an absent God in this life, for you give me everything I have on earth!
I accept you, Lord, as my Life. I
believe you are my Life. I give over everything to you today. In Yeshua's (God) name I pray. Amen.
